EVENTS COMING UP National Nanny Training Day April 20th, 2013 - 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Launched last year by Lora Brawley, CEO of Nanny Biz Reviews, the National Nanny Training Day is a way to encourage the childcare industry at large to set standards for its caregivers. The Help Company, a premiere Los Angeles-based nanny placement agency for thousands of Los Angeles families, will be sponsoring the Los Angeles training event. The training day will feature several celebrity guests and speakers, includng Lisa Pierson Weinberger of Mom, Esq., who will be on hand to educate attendees on their rights as domestic workers. The Pump Station May 24th, 2013 @ 1PM - Santa Monica Location June 7th, 2013 @ 1PM - Hollywood Location This lecture will focus on helping women successfully transition back to work at the end of a maternity leave. Offering both practical and legal advice, this lecture will provide new mothers with tools to help create a positive working relationship with their employer as they navigate the work/life balancing act as a parent for the first time. With an emphasis on empowering women to create an employment arrangement that works for their family without alienating their employer in the process, topics will include: legal rights to reinstatement following a maternity leave, federal and state laws regarding lactation rights in the workplace, protected time off for children's illness or educational needs, and helpful advice for negotiating part-time or flexible schedules.
